The consistancy should be for making Vadas. If its too thick, add more water/buttermilk else add rice flour to thicken it.
Take a small qty and flatten it in your palms and drop it in hot oil for deep fry. The heat should be med to high.
If too hot, the Vadas will brown outside but will remain uncooked inside. And if too low, it will absorb more oil.
